About Us
24-hour care for the pets of the North West of England

With branches in St Helens, Liverpool, Warrington, Freckleton, Haydock, Bryn, Grappenhall, Penketh, and Widnes, our trusted veterinary practice has been serving our community since 1961.
In 2007, we were delighted to have Lord Soulsby of Swaffham open our purpose-built Rutland House Veterinary Hospital, which offers 24-hour emergency care and all manner of first opinion and referral services.
We also have local branches throughout the area, providing convenient routine services for you and your pet.
Our ethos
We have made it our mission to ensure that our community can always access high quality, personal veterinary care tailored to their pet’s specific needs.
Our ethos is rooted in compassion, integrity, excellence and animal welfare; in short, we strive to treat every pet like one of our own.
You can trust that you will be kept fully informed at every stage of your pet’s care, and will have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have during our consultations, which are 15 minutes as standard to give us the chance to hear all of your concerns.
We aim to combine clinical expertise and empathy, through delivering a compassionate service led by the latest evidence and tailored to your pets needs.

How we can help
Whatever your pet needs, you can trust that you’ll receive a personal, informed service every step of the way.
The extensive range of experience within our friendly team, combined with our modern facilities, means that we can deliver both routine and more complex services onsite, without the need for you to take your pet elsewhere.
Alongside our day-to-day offering, we also provide services such as hydrotherapy at our Freckleton branch and CT scans, laser therapy, orthopaedics and keyhole surgeries at our hospital.
Plus, we run our own emergency service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with team members onsite at all times to monitor our inpatients.
Giving back to our community
Engaging with our community is vital to our practice, which is why we regularly get involved with local pet fairs, schools and colleges.
Through offering talks, tours and work experience placements, we’re helping to inspire the next generation of veterinary talent.
Sustainability is also a primary focus for our team, so we have implemented several initiatives to help reduce our environmental impact.
These include waste reduction efforts, the installation of an energy efficient lighting and heating system, the use of eco-friendly products, paperless administration systems and green travel incentives for our team.
