Veterinary Surgeon
We are currently recruiting for:
Veterinary Surgeon
Our tier 3 hospital is a training practice which is fully equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, various scopes, dental radiography, CO2 laser, laparoscopic equipment, 64 slice CT scanner and a 1.5T MRI scanner. Our hospital is located close to the major cities of Liverpool and Manchester with great airport links. We are also close the beautiful countryside of Wales and the Lakes.
We are looking for an experienced vet to join our fabulous team who is happy consulting and performing neuterings/small surgical procedures sole charge as some of you time will involve branch work. You must be client and patient care focused with an interest in working your cases up to a high standard working alongside a brilliant team of vets some of which have certificates in medicine, surgery and diagnostic imaging with others currently undertaking study towards theirs. Individual progression is encouraged.
We also have a close working relationship with the referral side of our practice.
50% of your time will be sole charge branch work or we could accommodate a candidate wanting a branch sole charge only role with the hospital as a backup. We will consider part time applicants also.
You will work a 4 day week and weekend rotas 1:8 Saturday and Sunday OR two Saturdays and one Sunday in 8 weeks. Some contribution to the OOH rota will be needed for holiday and sickness cover. 6.6 weeks annual leave inclusive of bank holidays. £1750 CPD allowance with 1 week for CPD attendance. VDS, RCVS and BSAVA or BVA paid. Salary commensurate with experience. Part Time OOH/Hosp RVN
The Practice
Rutland House is a very busy, RCVS accredited first opinion and referral practice with a large team of vets, RVNs and ACAs and a dedicated OOH team at the main hospital. We also have 8 branches in the surrounding area. We have an amazing team of nursing staff including ACA’s, SVN’s, RVN’s and Diploma/Certificate holding RVN’s. We are currently looking for another outstanding RVN to join our wonderful team.
The Role
We are recruiting for a part time RVN to join our team to assist with our out of hours and hospital caseload. There is the opportunity to pick up further holiday cover shifts if wanted. This role will be a combination of OOH shifts and rotational hospital shifts. The role will include taking care of inpatients, dealing with OOH calls, theatre (1st opinion and referral), Consulting, triage of patients, assisting in theatre, maintaining high levels of infection control, this list is not exhaustive.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have amazing in-patient care skills, good anaesthesia experience and knowledge and a passion for providing emergency care to a varied case load. Good communication skills and a willingness to teach our wonderful Student Veterinary Nurses is essential.
Hours
32hrs per week, following the below pattern:
